Angelo was the fourth and final member of the Class of ’67 to be lost in Vietnam. Angelo was one of the few who had more than a years' service before being sent to Vietnam.  Angelo was in-country less than two months before his loss.

The unit logs and reports concerning the time that Angelo was serving indicates that mines and booby-traps were plaguing the battalion and accounted for most of the casualties during the month of March.  The battalion log indicated that at 1540 hours a member of H3 (3^rd platoon, Hotel Company) had set off a booby-trap resulting in one KIA.
